The German Chancellor visits France at the invitation of French President Macron

German Chancellor Angela Merkel made her last official visit to France at the invitation of French President Macron, amid a warm reception by hundreds of local residents, according to (Russia Today).

It is noteworthy that German Chancellor Angela Merkel is retiring from politics after spending 16 years as German chancellor and that she will perform the duties of chancellor until a new German government is formed following the elections that took place on September 26.

The German Chancellor accepted the invitation of French President Macron and headed to the city of Bonn in eastern France, accompanied by her husband Joachim Sauer, and was received by French President Macron, accompanied by his wife Brigitte.

Macron tweeted before receiving the German Chancellor, "France loves you," and the reception took place in Bonn, then a piano party and dinner were held, according to the French Press Agency.

French President Emmanuel Macron awarded German Chancellor Merkel the Legion of Honor, the highest honor in France.

In a gesture of thanks to Merkel for her contribution to Franco-German relations, the French president invited her to visit France, and she was received in Bonn, the birthplace of French President Macron, and she was awarded the Legion of Honor, which is the highest in France.
